49th Street Grand Prix

I love the iconic yellow NYC taxicabs. When I was a boy, they were all Checker cabs. Now they are mostly hybrids. Cool. When you enlarge this image, you will see 30 Rock on your left and Radio City Music Hall on your right.

The cabs are a good ride - just as well as we once spent over 4 hours in one in a traffic jam. The driver had forgotten one of the tunnels from JFK into Manhattan had a lane closure!

Iconic is the right word. I too remember the Checker cabs.
