Papa Joe's Oyster Bar

In a town that time forgot, this landmark has been abandoned. Papa Joe's Oyster Bar was located in the Scipio Creek Marina for many years, but the restaurant has moved to downtown Apalachicola. We used this marina to launch our boat and I was fascinated with this old building and its faded murals. I believe these murals are over 60 years old.

If you like this old building and want to see another view of it, let me know and I'll show you the waterfront elevation tomorrow.

Amazing how the murals are intact when the place is exposed to all the elements. Lovely capture.

Isn't it amazing when you do this to a building . It really brings it to life and as the years go by you can feel the history it has. Would love to see another view.

Well worth digital preservation Danny. Super shot and an interesting series. Definitely want more! I'd like to know if Apalachicola is generally past its prime.

Cool building! Reminds me of the motif used by Long John Silver's in their indoor decor.
