A night at Le Viste by spectrum

A night at Le Viste

This little beach is called "Le Viste" (the views). Once it was completely free but now only half of it is still free. It's not completely bad because they maintain the area in good shape and give some services.

I took this exact photo in May when we were in Porto Ercole for the Pirates event.
I didn't post it because it wasn't good enough, but I learned a lot from that experience.

In May I shot in a limit situation: I was in the middle of the night and without moon. There wasn't light, really, completely black. The exposure time was about 10 minutes, in fact I had to shoot in bulb mode. My tripod isn't sturdy enough for such a long time.

This time I planned better.
I wake up before 4:00 am to have the time to go to the location before dawn but not in the middle of the night.
The moon was in right place, it wasn't full but enough to give some light to the scene. I was a little worried the clouds could cover the moon but it wasn't an issue.
The clouds, anyway, prevented me to take the stars in the sky, so I decided to take another type of photo.
In May I had some problems with the focus. To do it manually was impossible because I saw nothing. It was difficult to arrive to the little beach. This time I did things simpler. For the focus I used the focus scale of the lens. Wideangle did the rest helping in this aspect.
The exposure time wasn't more than 30 seconds due to more light and also my tripod did a good work.
I enabled also the function "long exposure noise reduction" that helps a lot to have a cleaner image.

This shot and the one of the Tower of Capo d'uomo were challenging but I like to improve my photography and myself: this could happen only continuing pushing the level. What will be the next challenge? Ah ah, I don't know yet.
This is so beautiful FAV
