One in five Americans will visit the Emergency room Dept. each year. There have been significant increases in E.R. visits in recent years. this pic is from a local small town public hospital... Universal health care is much in public discussions in these days of upcoming elections.
recently turned 62.. a good feeling getting older... enjoy nature and backyard birding. currently shooting with an used Nikon D60 DSLR... I thought it would...
There is much to be said for universal health care. Canada used to have the system to emulate but no longer. Our wait times have gotten WAAY out of hand. A person could die waiting for an appointment to see a doctor. And, it is not unusual to wait in an emergency room for over 24 hours if you are forced to go to emergency because you cannot get in to see a doctor for minor problems like ear infections or needing stitches.
Tread carefully and investigate all the systems world-wide. There are some good ones out there.
My recommendation is a combination public and private health care which Canada refuses to adopt for ideological reasons. We are too socialist to agree to private health care while we strangle our public system with red tape so it is too inefficient.
