I took this at Middleton Plantation in Charleston and I just love the simplicity of it so I decided to do it in b&w. Life was simpler then but so much more difficult. I will take my life!
What a perfect shot for the theme. Processing it in B&W was really a good idea. Your comment, "Life was simpler then but so much more difficult." is right on target. I just finished a (true) book titled "See You in 100 years" by Logan Ward in which Ward, his wife and toddler move from NYC to rural VA and pledge, ‘If it didn’t exist in 1900, we will do without,’ and they do but it isn't easy! Great story all the better for being true.
The b&w makes for an extra finishing touch for this week's theme.
I agree with you -- it was simple then; but I would choose our life over theirs. I don't want to live in a time with no Department stores, no grocery store, no cars, no fast-food -- etc.
This picture is very different to many here and really caught my eye. Perfect in b/w, yes life was simple then and although we would all prefer life today some of their principles were no bad thing. Lovely photo..thank you.
I cannot believe you too are an EA and have sailed the Cape. How nice to have found one another.
