Love all the brown tones. There is an old tale that lots of acorns mean lots of snow and a bad winter. guess we will have to wait and find out if it applies this year.
We used to have a Filbert in our yard and in fact live in an old Filbert orchard. Unfortunately, the cherries are taking over. The squirrels must be very happy in your yard. You probably spend all spring and summer removing the "volunteer" filberts. Nice capture for the season.
Beautiful fall shot! We have a lot of nuts falling off our tree. I don't know what kind they are, but don't think they are edible...just driving me nuts!
@wannabe are they like these...if so...you can eat them...but if they are wild ones like these are, watch out...they most likely have worms in them too!
@sangwann these are growing wild along the edge of our property...we don't do anything with them as far as spray, etc and most of the time when I open them up, they are have a little worm in them too! I would rather leave them for the birds!
Filberts and Hazelnut are the same nut. . @julie
hope all is well with you x
