I love weekend lie-ins. I didn't have one though. I got up relatively early so I could go into town and do some sale shopping. However, as I got up I noticed my other half's feet popping out of the blanket and saw a photo opportunity.
I de-saturated the colours a little and lowered the clarity to make the image more dream-like and evocative of those wonderful morning lie-ins. The noise (or grain) was quite high in the original picture because of the lack of available light, so I masked much of it in Lightroom too; I think this also helps the dreamy effect because it removed some of the sharpness.
This is the earliest time I've taken a daily photo so far. I'm a slow starter in the mornings, so this is quite unusual for me as I don't often have a clear head first thing. I suppose this means my brain is becoming hard-wired to look for photo opportunities, which can only be a good thing.
Semi-professional photographer based in Nottingham, England, I shoot mainly events and weddings. I'll be posting my work using my Fujis - X100S and X-Pro1.
