Where are these canals?

@regularguy Perhaps I can best respond to your question with a question. Where are these canals not? :-D Because instead of putting up fences or walls around a meadow or field, farmers dug a ditch around it. The ditches also served as irrigation and to pump water out. With the introduction of modern irrigation methods some the smaller ditches have been filled in and fields were enlarged for more efficient farming. The ditches also can be found in new housing estates as people like to life next to water and it keeps the neighbourhood dry. @hermann @regularguy Your welcome :-) And well the Romans started with making canals here with the Fossa Corbulonis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossa_Corbulonis @vignouse Well at times it feel I would need an aqua-bike, Luckily the pumping stations keep doing there job.
