@louannwarren Lou Ann, as much as you enjoy Glacier, you really MUST go to Many Glacier if you have not been there. It's incredible. The Canadian border - and then the lovely area of Waterton is just a short jaunt from there.
Thank you for all of your lovely comments on my project:)
A friend of mine who lives in Whitefish does an annual trip to Many Glacier and has painted some of the stunning scenes. It's on my list as well...what beautiful landscape -- and your image here is such a great example.
@danette Well...Melanie was just here and we had a fantastic time. September is great as the park is still open throughout, if you come the 1st part of Sept. The fall colors are beautiful. But there are no guarantees. Fires have been a problem the last few years. Spring is wonderful - but it can also be rainy. I never recommend the summer months because it is just too dang busy - people everywhere and long waits. I think the park is always beautiful but you have to be prepared for the unexpected as far as weather and other natural elements are concerned. I hope you can come and visit!
@365karly1 I'm sure it is beautiful year round. I didn't want to come over the summer because of crowds. I understand the main road is closed in winter. Weather is always iffy! I appreciate your input.
Stunning image. I am always sad when I hear of the American Indians and how remember how they were almost completely wiped out by 'white' invaders all greedy to take their land.
@365karly1 Ten years ago we stayed at Many Glacier, but we didn’t get up to the Canadian border, we will have to go back! I have a photo of a pollen wind storm blowing through the trees across the lake from Many Glacier Hotel’s verandas. So wonderful. We were there before they had elevators and the bell boys looked like pack mules running up the stairs with our luggage.
Thank you for all of your lovely comments on my project:)
