Great format suited to the subject, not sure how you have done this. I like the dramatic gradation between the three pine trees. I also like the hazy woods in the bottom to anchor the picture. Good job !
@etienne Thank you, Etienne. I wish I could say I'm a master at gradation, etc. No. I just used a filter from Topaz and cropped my photo. Couldn't be easier:) The hazy woods are due to fog on the lake that morning. Thank you for the nice comment!
Great choice of filter to go with this - the fog looks somewhat like our sky tonight caused by the Forest Service control burn just north of us. Had hoped we'd get some red skies from it, but just hazy.
@365karly1 Thanks for your answer. I do not why I had never thought of using this type of cropping. I always crop into standard formats, probably by pure habit. So, I tried it today on one of my pictures (that I am not posting), and it looks great : one more possibilty in my toolbox. Thank you for the inspiration.
