This is where George Viccars lived. He was the tailor's assistant and the first person to die on 7th September 1665 of the plague. The plague arrived in a box of cloth from London containing plague fleas. The village is known for the bravery of its inhabitants, because instead of fleeing they isolated themselves and stopped the plague spreading. 260 people died in the village.
A pretty stone cottage with colourful flowers, all in nice sunlight. And what a story! I feel there is (maybe) a lesson for the rest of us here. Fav for this sweet photo!
