This is a filler photo from a day I missed back in August. I'm posting this photo now because of a Facebook campaign I just became aware of. Because the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine, some FB users are posting photos of sunflowers as a show of support for the people of Ukraine and for all those who risk opposing Putin's brutal invasion. We can only hope that peace and security for the people of Ukraine will be restored swiftly.
A very beautiful photo, Heather, and happy to know that you and others are showing support of Ukraine in this way. We have been there some few years ago and have many friends there. Praying fervently for their protection and a cessation of the assaults on these precious people! I may have to hunt up some of my sunflower photos to post to show my support, as well. Very appreciative of this!
@bjywamer Thank you, Barb. I was grateful to have learned about this Facebook campaign, but, even so, it feels so feeble. This is tremendously distressing. Apparently, Canada has the largest population of people from Ukraine outside of Ukraine and Russia. We all know, directly or indirectly, people who are being deeply affected by this attack. Such a dark time! Hoping for an end to come soon!
