Fresh Snow

Another snowfall last night, but this little house sparrow knows how to keep its feet (relatively) dry.

So sweet it always amazes me how tiny birds get through freezing cold winters.Lovely capture.

@wendyfrost I know. I only recently learned that birds fluff up their feathers in order to trap air inside to make a layer of insulation to keep them (and their organs) warm. This is why they look so fat in our cold winter :)
