Another sign of spring: this house finch is feasting on the tree buds. In fact there were lots of finches feasting away. It's surprising to me that any buds will remain after this.
@lynnz I didn't know either until today. I couldn't believe what I was seeing so I googled what they eat in spring. Indeed, they eat buds and blossoms. Who knew?
