Two new condos (ugly, imo!) frame the clock tower of the Yorkville Fire Hall, the oldest fire hall in Toronto. The tower dates back to 1876 (not old by UK or European standards, I know), when the original fire hall was constructed. (In 1889, the fire hall itself, but not the tower, was demolished and rebuilt). However, for me, the honey locusts in the foreground are the most beautiful towers of all! I love their autumn yellow! (Note: the clock tower clearly needs a repair job: the correct time was 1:15 (on the side), not 6:55 (on the front)- a small detail :)
@beryl@Dawn Yes, "a blot on the landscape" says it! Unfortunately, Toronto (like so many other cites) has gone condo-crazy, building high rise monstrosities like these *everywhere*!!!
The clock tower on it's own is a wonderful piece of architecture, pity about the condos. The beautiful trees are the stars here. Love the way you composed this shot.
