Some of my flower shots have come from this location. This is the Paul Kane House, a heritage building dating back to the 1850s. In 1985, an addition was added (not seen in this shot) and the old and new buildings became a housing cooperative. During one of my photo shoots, I encountered Allan, who lives in the co-op. I started to apologize for trespassing, but he cut me off. If I had a camera, that was not a problem for him. When I told him that I admired the grounds, he beamed with pride. It turned out that he was the co-op's major gardener. He then took me for a tour of the grounds, pointing out his favorite shrubs and flowers. He ended by reassuring me that I could come anytime to take photos and if anyone gave me a hard time (no one has- everyone has been very pleasant), I should just say, "Allan said it's okay."
great photo
