A crossing guard (?!) at a busy downtown intersection, guiding pedestrians across the street and holding traffic at bay with her red "STOP" sign. (Never mind that there are traffic lights)
In my elementary school days (60+ years ago!!), crossing guards helped us to cross the street as we made our way to and from school.
I guess now, with so many pedestrians being hit by cars at intersections, we all need the protection of a crossing guard.
A great story telling shot. We too had crossing guards way back in my school days.
We also had them to help us cross the main 4 lane road in CT, due to heavy wind! It was impossible to cross on your own. We probably live in the windiest part of the world during the summer months Heather.
