Yesterday the sun beat down on the thermometer outside our pantry window http://365daysintheyear.shutterfly.com/2068 and today we woke to the sound of the fog horn. For our morning walk, we went to Blue Rocks. This is the end of the road there when the tide was out. I'll take the weather either way...I love it all!
How beautiful!! I love the boats!! And the fog gives such a dreamy feel to the photo!! I like your attitude to the weather, Louise - whatever it is, you'll take it!! We can really use some rain here in Missouri, and hopefully we'll get some soon. Usually the Bulgarian weather comes here in a week, and it's been storming in Sofia lately, so I am hoping... :-) Thank you so much for your sweet note!! I am loving all the refreshing images everybody is posting! The 365 community is constantly growing, and keeps me glued to the PC screen! I also wish there could be more hours in a day, because I don't want to miss not even a single shot! It's hard to keep up with the comments, the popular page and the latest photos... But at the same time, it's such an enjoyable pastime! :-) Looking at your four-digit number of favorites, I can tell that we are both addicts! ;-))
This is so pretty...My husband has extended family in Nova Scotia and he keeps saying he wants to go visit. After seeing all of your lovely pictures I can't wait to go there!
This is a wonderful shot Louise! I love the foggy colors on the houses and the seagull on the roof! I also think the little boats are very interesting . Hope the heat returns for you :o)
This is a great photo...your town looks really beautiful. I hope one day I get to visit! At least if I never make it there, I can experience it through your lovely photos! Thank you for sharing!
This is gorgeous! I love it, it's so serene. We all know we need some serenity in our lives, especially in this day in age. Just looking at this image makes me feel like it's foggy outside.
So much about this is wonderful...I love the way the fog and the buildings are a bit misty, but the boats are nice and sharp. I love all the colors of the boats and the seagull in the water(and the flying bird)...really beautiful! Seems like I could almost hear the seagulls cry and the lapping of the water on the shore.
I love this one!!!!! I like all your vacation pics, but this one is so far my fav!!!! All it needs is an Orca dorsal fin :-) (my own personal wish lol)
very beautiful and dreamy...and I like the color of the houses and the boats on the foreground made the picture more beautiful...this morning I also found the weather a bit cooler with quite heavy fog from the rain early morning...
i agree with holly, i can just hear the sounds, and feel the wet, and smell the smells. great shot.
thank you for all your kind comments! i used to paint in watercolor, but stopped when i started tattooing ( tattooing take all my creative juices on a daily basis). plan to get back to it when i'm in my 70's though.
wow! this is exquisite! would make a lovely wall hanging if printed on canvas....i can see a little gull swimming....lovely composition! such a beautiful find!
This is beautiful Louise...it looks so peaceful and serene. And well...it looks so much cooler there than it is here, I'm jealous! I think I may be melting in Texas..... :)
Thank you for your thoughtful comments tonight and commenting on my previous fountain picture. I appreciate how welcoming you are on this site. I don't know how you manage to comment on so many photos and have time for anything else in your day. Since I'm not working much right now, I've spent many hours each day and evening looking at everyone's photos. It takes time! You are very kind.
Those flowers (roses?) over on your shutterfly blog are freakin' awesome Louise. So, so pretty. I'm a real girly girl when it comes to pink and flowers.
Gorgeous shot! Was watching the World Cup tonight and one of the commercials during half-time (Cisco) is filmed in Lunenburg! Totally thought of you, of course. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuOUEVdUZcY
This is such a beautiful photo, I would love to wake up to a cold foggy morning, we are at 85 to 95 degree weather now. It looks so calm and peaceful, too. I like that.
Oh it looks like fall already. But beside that it's a very good picture.
How great that your son-in-law is calling you Mamarazzi. We really had a giggle when my husband came up with this Barbarazzi name.
I really feel like I'm there Louise. You really captured this beautiful morning scene! I took it all in...every last detail. Wondered about that sagging dock, which end was the front on that yellow boat, what kind of bird that is soaring in the top left, etc. Thanks for the mental vacation, my mind needed that today.
there is something so beautifully calm about foggy mornings. i love how through the fog you still captured all the color. beautiful photo. and thank you so much for asking about my friend's daughter. she is doing alright, she had major head surgery yesterday but got through it fine and is now recovering in ICU. thank you for keeping her in your thoughts louise, i really appreciate it :)
Gosh, I hate when I am late to the comments...I want to read everyone elses comments but there just isn't time so forgive me if I repeat what you have already heard...this is stunning, Louise. I hope it is one you frame b/c everything about it is wonderful ;-)
Re: comment--it was an inlaid art piece beneath the water. There were several turtles, all bright colours (and I'm like a little crow when it comes to colours--haha). It was quite dark inside the aquarium, so I was surprised the photo turned out okay.
Ooo, I love this, really soft and subtle and the boat colours work so well, especially the yellow one! And now I've made my keyboard all sticky, typing whilst eating an apple doesn't work so well!!
Everybody has said it all and I agree with them! lol You have so many friends here Louise. Don't know how you manage to keep up with it all. I find it hard to keep up with my small group, then an individual has a crisis of some kind and they enter your 'real' world in your thoughts. Ray's mother, Steve H's cat and Ira's cat....it's an emotional place this 365!! What did we do before we joined?? :-)
Yes, Louise, you took my breath away on this one. I love Nova Scotia so much and would do like you and move there part time if I had the money. This picture is just so fantastic! You need to frame this one! I had to fav it! Now I just had a thought. Our friends in Kentville are making a bedroom and bath in their basement....not a bad idea! They are the ones we were with for 9 months running so we know each others nasty habits already...........
This is so beautiful and the fog gives it a dreamlike quality ... I never see fog in either of my homes! Love the content AND composition, as well! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh! I had no idea you meant that the beauty of the passion fruit flower literally lasted ONE day! I went back today and it was shriveled up. WOW. I am amazed!
Hi Louise! Thanks for the corn advice. The sad thing is we did have two very nice rows of corn growing!! Those two are all that are left! Pesky bugger!! We are on a mission now to win this battle! :)
Oh goodness, this is so beautiful!! This looks exactly like the places I love to visit. A quaint little town with the fog rolling in, and very peaceful.
I just read your sweet note on my "don't feel like it" photo, and thanks so much! I feel the same about you! If I've done nothing else here this year, I have met some incredible people and made friends...even when people on here bicker, we are still a community. And that just rocks.
Louise this is a perfect foggy photo. I had to laugh I think you are a good friend to many on 365 I had to just keep scrolling and scrolling to get to where I could comment. The picture is on the way to Canada !
*fav* This is beautiful Louise. I love your morning walks and the treasures you find and share with us. I love to take long walks in the morning too, and my pup never gets tired of it either. Tomorrow I'll be walking around some downtown streets and hope to get some fun shots there! Hope you are doing well!!
I went to bed last night thinking I was caught up with all my friends and somehow I missed this beautiful landscape. What a masterpieces. And the soft fog looks especially lovely to me after so many days of harsh sunshine. Thank you for sharing your beautiful summer home.
This is so beautiful. It has an almost dreamy quality to it because of the moisture in the air. Even in the haze - or perhaps because of it - all those bright colors pop. Love it! Another fav for me.
Wow, i just love foggy days like this. we've had a very foggy afternoon/evening and it's the kind of weather where you just wanna curl up under the covers with a movie or a good book. there's a lovely softness and peacefulness to this pic. lovely !
Gorgeous. i love Blue Rock, i have several shot of that area from when we were up there. Could I ask you how much it cost to get a 30x30 photo put on canvas and where you got it done?
@sailingmusic ...wow...scrolling down through all the comments...that doesn't happen anymore! How wonderful that you know this beautiful little corner of Nova Scotia! The canvas, on stretcher bars, is 20x30 and cost me $169 from Shutterfly. I was very happy with the finished product. I had another canvas printed of a day at Butchart Gardens that I have hanging in my living room... I couldn't be happier than shopping with Shutterfly. Happy to share the information!
thank you for all your kind comments! i used to paint in watercolor, but stopped when i started tattooing ( tattooing take all my creative juices on a daily basis). plan to get back to it when i'm in my 70's though.
How mysterious it all looks - I can imagine why so many films are set here - just wonderful!
How great that your son-in-law is calling you Mamarazzi. We really had a giggle when my husband came up with this Barbarazzi name.
magical place (:
A little slice of heaven!
Hope your time up there is being awesome all the time. Sorry I've been short on comments lately, just real, real, real busy, and getting busier!
