It's 2 AM as I wind down the day and try to sort through my photos and good memories. The morning was indescribably beautiful, the air cool & still. I took pictures from the open window in the living room and tried to capture it all, but the way it felt was better than any picture I could take. Four of us drove out to Blue Rocks for our morning walk, and this time I looked back across to Feltzen South where I'd taken my Fish Shack photo. I had a good view of the movie location and found where everyone was parked. Billy teased me that I should be so interested, being from Southern California, movie studio mecca, but I explained it's all for my photojournalistic reporting :-)
The afternoon was spent with friends in nearby Mahone Bay, where I tried to assist my friend Enid to resolve some of her computer glitches. It was nice to return home and know Ken and David were preparing another lovely dinner, and Billy tended bar, making me my first Cosmopolitan. The evening's conversation was wrapped around our upcoming travel plans together. In November the four of us are headed to Europe. I can hardly begin to consider it all yet as I'm enjoying each day as it unfolds and there's so much to look forward to between now and then. When the evening came to a close, I had a mail-box with notes that needed immediate attention and the days photos to look through. The day was full to the brim, and I'm not unaware of that Gift. Tomorrow has rain in the forcast which tonight I think may be a good thing on so many levels!
Great shot! I look so forward to reading about your daily adventures Louise. I'll be heading down to Charleston, SC this weekend for vacation. I only hope that the house we've rented has internet...lol
This just looks so refreshing....and that cheese in the background...mmm! Your life is certainly full Louise....love to hear all your stories. You are going to be bowled over when you get to Europe by all the photo opportunities. Are we ready for you I ask myself..:-)
Mmmm, that looks tasty! I love your composition with the cheese and crackers in the background! How exciting that you're headed to Europe in November... but right now that must seem like a lifetime away.
Mmm the cheese looks delicious and I'm wondering what's in the glass. I've recently discovered sherry and blue cheese. Will you be visiting the UK? We may need to clean the red carpet! Honestly it would be like a royal visit!
love this picture because it has one of my favorite drinks and my favorite snack..... cheese and crackers!! :) where will you be traveling in Europe? I lived in Milan for a year when I was in 4th grade and we traveled all over Europe.....
That sounds like a lovely evening! I have no idea what's in a Cosmopolitan, but it looks very pretty, complete with the floating flower (:
Beautifully composed photo
Great shot! Nicely focused. I love the flower in the drink - did you add that for the picture or was that a lovely touch added by Billy? Did you enjoy your first cosmo? :)
Love this shot, Louise. I love living vicariously through you...I do have to admit that sometimes I am a bit envious though..no wait...I have to admit I am *often* a bit envious ;-)
Louise you live such a busy life. is it the same at home? i got away from the late nights ad early mornings (4 am ) and since then i feel a lot better. good choice for a night snack. You are already ahead of the game.. crackers and cheese especially brie is very European. any idea where in Europe? Looking forward to seeing everything through your eyes.(in pictures)
Excellent shot! Love the focus of the cosmo and the blur of the cheese and crackers. The floating flower adds such a nice garnish, I'll have to remember that one for sure. Europe in the fall. How nice. I can totally relate to having a hard time looking forward to something in the future when there is so much in the near future to fill your mind. Just enjoy each day.
I laughed at your title. Sometimes you do have to resort to different titles, you know, to get people to notice. Love the coloring in the photo! :) And I can't wait to see your photos from Europe in November!
Wow! After reading each comment below your photos, I always feel like that everything I meant to say has been said. I can imagine how long it must take you to get through each one and then respond...the curse of your royal status, I guess (as Richard T. has pointed out). Ha! Goodness, you are certainly going to have a full schedule on your European tour visiting all the 365ers across the pond. :-)
re: papaya ... nope, these will be the first. I've sprouted and planted seeds, but they haven't survived without my loving attention. I'm hopeful that planting these established trees will work. I have two ... did you know that they need to be planted in pairs? (I think that's so sweet! Trees in pairs ...)
Title made me laugh out loud. What a colorful (and delicious!) photo. Every drink should come with a flower in it. Life would be so much more inspired.
Thanks for your comment - I did edit in Photoshop. It was originally red and white/clear sprinkles we had left over from Christmas time that we were using - so I changed the hues and up'd the contrast sky high and that pretty much made a lot of the clear sprinkles disappear and it gave it that spongy effect.
I love this! what a gorgeous cocktail with the flower & the chees & crackers looks yummy! I know you take it easy though with the drinks. My problem is that I'm Chinese & just can hardly drink any alcohol without it affecting me more intensely thatn anyone around me. I'm usually the designated driver, but occasionally I let myself go! I hope you enjoy a bit of arest from your hectic schedule!
Louise---my sister and I spoke Italian fluently when we lived there and even translated for our parents, but now I only remember a few words and one song!! :) I know you are going to have such memorable times!!
I was thinking...I may give you the address where we lived (it was an apartment) and IF (and thats a BIG IF) you see it you can take a picture for me!! I always wonder how much it has changed from what I remember,,,,I hope to return one day....
Your perspective and composition are excellent!! It also looks delicious!
I'm so jealous that you have men to cook for you. I can't even get my hubby to grill. Mind you he's good at everything else around the house that needs fixing, and works on our cars, etc. It would be nice to have a meal cooked for me at home just once though LOL.
Beautiful composition, Louise!! Your Cosmopolitan looks tempting! Europe in November - this is WONDERFUL! I'll be looking forward to photos from your trip! ;-)
Brad's comment made me giggle as always. I love that we are so busy and constantly trying to find a balance. I am glad to know I am not the only one that struggles with it. Europe, too? Did I forget this already amongst the frenzy of all of your other activities? It wouldn't surprise me. I just love that you are so aware of your blessings and so obviously grateful. It is so easy to take the wonderful things in our life for granted - even if it is just quiet time alone while it is raining out. *hugs*
What a lovely photo and as always a lovely day's story to go with it.
You write wonderfully well Louise and your descriptions are so good we could be there with you - thank you for that!
You will have to tell us all the places you are going to visit on your trip later in the year - Europe is such a wonderful place.
We are visiting the Cook Islands in May next year & I can hardly wait.
This is beautiful! I love the little flower in the drink. Plus the background adds an amazing touch on it! I absolutely love the colors in the photo. Great shot!
& I also appreciate your kind words on my photos. It really means a lot and I'm happy that you take the time and write to me. :) Thank you so much!
That sounds like an absolutely beautiful day, one that will persist in memories for a long time. :) That cheese looks absolutely divine... I am a bit of a cheese fiend and I love me a bit of camembert! That drink also looks sensational, and the little flower floating in it is so cute!
