I can't think of a nicer way to pass a day than cuddling my grandbaby! John and Ashley have been so sweet to pass him over to me when Ken and I visit, and, yes, I've made sure Ken gets to hold him as well! I'm so glad we could be here, as the past twelve days have been a bit of a rocky start, but things seem to be turning around. Ashley is starting to feel better and Ashton's jaundice is gone and we can hold him without the machine in the way. The weather went on a crazy roller coaster ride, too, from the high 70s to the low 40s, so the woolens are feeling pretty good! Isn't Ashton's cap adorable? Our own Andrea Freeman knit that for him and it's a perfect fit! We all love the colors, and appreciate the thoughtfulness. He'll be ready when the snow flies, and at this rate, that could be any day now!
Louise Louise! sue and i were just talking about you! we were anxious to see new pics from you and was wondering if everything is ok with you guys :) glad to "see" you and the baby again :) so sweet!
Oh so precious...so glad to hear that Ashton got over his jaundice. he looks cute in his knitted cap. can remember knitting baby stuff for my first born. OMG that was almost 50 years ago. you are so right with the weather being a roller coaster. today sunny a minute than rain..sun again etc. my husband just got home from a bit of shopping (not more than 5 minutes drive away from home) and said he got out of the store and it was snowing,,,he saw the most perfect rainbow and of course I was home and so was the camera. now I have to send him shopping with not only bags but also with my little P/S camera.
Such a precious little bundle! I love Ashton's beautiful hat! You both look as snug as little bugs in a rug. Love this photo, Louise! I know you are enjoying each wonderful moment with your sweet grandson! :)
This is such a wonderful photo of you two! Yep, when he has grown to 6'4" like his daddy, oh, how much you'll cherish these shots of him when he fit in the crook of your arm. :-)
this is just so precious Louise! It's really a lovely site to see you and him snuggled together and he doesn't have to be on that machine! It sounds as though he will be oh so prepared with his little cap on! I'm so happy for you and just everyone who is touched by this precious little boy! I'm so happy that you are sharing the documentation of his beginning steps into life with us here on 365! thank you so so much! :D
Beautiful picture. You look a natural grandma! Hope that's an ok term. My parents insisted their grandkids call them by their names! I think they weren't ready to be gramps and grandma!
Really glad to hear everyone is doing better. I look at that photo and imagine you have a few very similar photos of you looking lovingly at your daughters.
He looks so BEAUTIFUL and you are right the hat fits perfectly.....but probably not for long! :) What a wonderful picture of the two of you, I think you need to start a photo album exclusive to pictures of just the two of you so you can document the two of you growing up!
what a beauty full portrait of you and your grandson! such a touching scene. Andrea did an awesome job on the cap... the colors are so pretty and between the cap and your sweater, Ashton's face is perfectly framed.
Louise ~ so glad to hear that Ashton doesn't have to be hooked up to the light anymore. It must feel so good to be able to hold him close to you without anything getting in the way of a good warm snuggle. You look like a natural Gram! You also look so cosy in your sweater...it's making me want to go grab a blanket and curl up with a good book. : )
Louise, I love the photo. Looking at the two of you brought a smile to my face. The way you are looking at Ashton says it all. Welcome to the world of Grandparents. It is an indescribable experience that etches its way into your heart without even being aware. I can tell you are enjoying it. Bless your new family.
aww...he looks like a little doll! looks like little ashton is finding your loving embrace quite comfy!! so glad that things are smoothing out... i know those first few months can be tough... @andifree did an awesome job on that hat!! i'd pay love one of those! so cute!!
A lovely photo Louise, his hat is gorgeous (as is he!)
I've been having computer problems and haven't been able to comment for a few days, the only way I could upload my pics was by email! However with some help from Ross I have managed to sort it out. I've bee having 365 withdrawal symptoms! Enjoy your time with Ashton and the rest of the family. We're off to the UK next week so I will be able to cuddle my tiny one, I am sure she will have grown a lot in the last month.
Great little colorful cap!!! What an adorable picture, the two of you look so very lovely. I´m so glad mama and her little boy are both doing better, now you can all enjoy each others company even more!! What a wonderful way of starting grandparenthood, by spending so much time with him..
Hi Louise
That is such a cute baby!
I haven't been on 365 lately but I'm on now. You probably won't read this comment but I was wondering if you have left yet for your trip with David and Billy? I thought you might be because you haven't posted a picture in a few days? Hope all is well!

Precious...especially in your arms with Andrea's hat. My first went through this jaundice ride of lights and blankets and blood draws. Makes you appreciate the cuddle time even more!
i love this shot! (i was out of town last week and am just catching up) he looks so very content in grandma's arms, and you look pleased as punch with him there!
Beautiful picture! Hope you are enjoying Italy. Loved all the other family shots as well and loved hearing your grandson is feeling to more than a trip to the doctor, that's just awesome! See you soon! If you drop by Cologne, Germany, drop me a line!
