Presenting to you the most adorable, talented, poised kids I've had the pleasure of meeting! Last Thursday at the Farmer's Market they were performing (fiddle, fiddle, guitar and keyboard) and I got some darling photos of them. Today they performed at the bandstand across the street and I had a chance to chat with them after their set. Who wouldn't love those shirts! I asked if I could take a picture, and I'll have copies for them the next time I see them. Are they not the cutest?!
Today was *AMAZING*! The chamber of commerce put on a Lunenburg Block Party. The streets were cordoned off so we could sit outside for lunch at one of the restaurants. There were 1 hour sets of music in the bandstand across the street from 1:00 this afternoon until 10 tonight! We were in the front row center from 3-10 and loved every minute of it! There was a swing band, blues, a jazz trio, a balladeer from Newfoundland, and singers...all diverse and wonderful! We took a short break back at the house to recharge my camera battery and went back to reclaim out seats. Spoke with a lot of the musicians as they joined the audience when their sets were over. I'm on a high today having had a wealth of good music and sunshine...it doesn't get better than this!
Now that sounds really great..our town used to put something on but that was years ago..don't know why they don't do it anymore but the individual beach/parks have usually BBQ's, games for the kids and of course the fireworks at night. I''m looking forward to it...You, Kenn and your friends have a Happy Canada Day also. Canada eh...nice bunch of kids.
That is such a great opportunity for a community to host something like this, and then to experience the pleasures of good music, wow, that makes for a great event.
