This is About as "Wild" as it Gets on Prince Edward Island

On our second Thanksgiving visit to Cavendish, PEI I was hoping to see the foxes of the island again and they didn't disappoint! Two years ago I was seeing foxes for the first time http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2011-10-09 This trip, I realized they're quite comfortable around the people who feed them (though the signs say "No No"). I got out and was able to take photos every day from only a few feet away! Out there, someone inthe other stopped cars has pictures of me photographing the foxes. If you see one on 365, would you let me know? Stranger things have happened!
Wow, you are so close to him. What a beautiful animal.

@parisouailleurs On PEI they pose for pictures and eat my home-made meringues! While I was taking photos, Ken and our friends were tossing them meringue kisses from the car! Do you think we should come to France an give lessons in good Fox-Care?

yes you should. they said the foxes may have rabies and other diseases... not so sure it's true!

@parisouailleurs scare tactics...though I'm not going to reach out and try to pet their snout! I have a few people saying the same about the raccoons..so sad some people don't embrace all these lovely creatures! I know you do...and I love your Cham photos. (I put a cat photo on Sept 26...needed an additional slot... He's "my summer cat"..).

Such a beautiful animal. I'm amazed that they let you get so close, and yet again...these wild creatures are getting more and more used to their human neighbors. They were, in fact, all over the news yesterday reporting about the fellow that was attacked by three coyotes while out walking to work. Said it rarely ever happens, since they're usually frightened of humans...BUT because people in the area had been feeding them...they were getting UNAFRAID all too quickly. Yikes! http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/colorado-man-fights-off-coyotes-survives-20595763

@lisatown I'm not self-promoting, but I read your bio, and wanted to share that we love your PEI home and visit at least once a year!

@Weezilou I'm so bad at keeping up with notifications / comments I wouldn't have seen this unless you just mentioned it in your other post! The Fox is amazing!!

@lisatown Then I'm glad I said something! It was my way of introducing myself and the ties we share! Where on the Island was home for you?

@Weezilou I grew up in Charlottetown. I still have family there as well as on the South Shore in Rice Point. My folks go back (from BC) every summer but I'm not able to follow suit. The whole family will be there this summer so I'm 'tying' to get myself there too!

@lisatown What a lovely hometown! Of course that's a necessary destination with each of our visits! Our daughters try to get up to Lunenburg with the families each summer, but their jobs can make it difficult to get away. Good luck to you in making that all-important trip...what a photo opportunity that would be!
