This is "Kitty Carlisle", one of four ferals who call our yard home. Despite the name, "He" holds back until the food is on the plate and we've returned inside. But he's made himself ours to care for...and it would be impossible to resist his allure!
@allie912 LOL... Yes, my NS friend, Billy named "her", as he named "Fred Astaire" (because of his white spats) and "Dill" who arrived in their yard by coming through the fence (ala "Charles Baker Harris") Like you, Billy & David are "old souls" and literary... Watched Bell Book & Candle the other night and now I " need" another cat to name "Pywacket"!
@allie912 I'm forever grateful for whatever literary suggestions you care to make! How would I NOT find such a story enchanting! (For your second graders, also encompassing talking cats, have they been introduced to "Half Magic"? I enjoyed it as a child & my girls did, too. Heather took the book, so I don't have the author's name at hand... Another favorite is "The Fur Person" by May Sarton. You've probably come across it all in your field, but I hoped to share some, too.
And THANKS for your kind words about the little book...It was fun to connect over that...
Just thought I'd say hello after such a long time! This shot just caught my eye....I'm not posting at the moment due to family events but I call by nearly everyday. I'm so glad to see the spirit of Dill lives on in another cat cared for by you. I hope you tell them how lucky they are to have found you Louise!
