Wow, the details are fantastic! Is this duck sitting by your pool? :) I've never seen a duck in a swimming pool - but it sounds very Californian I think! :D
@lily LOL! Yes, on my Feb 24th photo, I mentioned the ducks arrive at the same time every year... and yes, she's sitting in the pool (a glimpse http://365project.org/Weezilou/album-excess/2014-02-08 ) I just keep laughing that it seems "Californian"... Today's rain had the ducks frolicking in the water...dunking and flapping their wings!
@Weezilou - oh, yes Now I saw that photo :) the internet connection here is sometimes so slow it takes a couple of minutes to load one photo, good thing I'm not in a hurry :)
@lily What you have to give up in Internet speed (& access, I suppose), you get back ten-fold in the beauty around you! Your photography really is wonderful and I love seeing that part of the world as you see it; thank you for that!
@parisouailleurs Thanks Helene! The water is always that color because bottom is white. It's popular now to have a black pool & the water looks deep green...more like a pond. I suppose you can't have it both ways!
@lucypics Yes, Southern California = pool in yard... Just read your profile... "Dr Dolittle", I presume? (A childhood favourite) How perfectly suited for you!
I'm glad the rains finally came but now I understand you have to worry about mudslides. I guess unless you are living in The Garden of Eden, you can't expect perfection.
@allie912 "Living on the flat" the mudslides don't affect us. And those pesky newsmen out here... One day of rain and the television heralds, "STORM WATCH!" The bulk of the population laughs it off...and the hearty souls who choose to live in the canyons know it's inevitable but always choose to return...
I love the duck, and the rain drops and splashes, it was worth looking large! We have had so much rain so far this year the garden is so soggy.
Still the sun is out today so I'm off out to do some weeding!
