I haven't finished unpacking from our visit up the coast and here they are on our doorstep this afternoon! Ashton 1> ran into the house 2> brought his toys downstairs from the closet and 3> said he wanted to go swimming! The pool was cleaned this morning and the hot weather has heated it perfectly! He's got mom & dad to himself when they go to Disneyland tomorrow. Ken and I are babysitting morning-to-night...that long, a first for us. I think we're up to the "task"! Lots of dutiful fun, so no time at the computer!
Oh boy, I see a few photos coming our way to prove you are very capable of entertaining the little one, and I'm sure he'll love his day with the two of you
He has gotten so big! :) What a beautiful boy he is, you must be so proud. At that age it must be fantastic to have grandparents with a swimming pool ;)
@lily Oh thanks, Lily! We think he and his brother (just one year old) are pretty terrific But regarding the pool, yes, you'd think it might be "special". However, Ash & John live on a private boarding school campus with a huge pool for the students and another just for faculty families...nice digs! (Not to mention he's 5 minutes from a beautiful beach..) Given all that, you can't keep him out of the water. With that blonde hair, he has "California Surfer" written all over his future...though we do hope he aspires to more than that!!!
Just look at that happy little guy, surrounded by love in all directions, and lovin' life because of it. Baby brother's about to be loved on an extra measure, being the only one at the grandparents' house today. :)
You're so right about the squirrel (in my photo) being a bit fearless and very curious. I thought for a moment she was going to come off that tree and actually approach me. Had she come any closer, I'd have had a hard time taking her picture with the telephoto lens — she'd have been too close!
