This is the child who has held up a hand & told me, "No more pictures, Grandma!" You'll forgive me that I find a way around that! This evening, he went with Papa and me to the dining hall and we took our dinner to an outdoor table. We made a game out of taking pictures...he had me taking lots of cheesy smiles and 3-year-old-goofy silliness (which, amazingly, turned out to be adorable!) After dinner, and a visit with his neighbors, we went to my favorite lookout for the last of the golden hour. There are two abandoned tractors with grasses growing up around them,so it's ready-made for little boys. In exchange for helping him climb on one, he worked with me about 80% of the time, which I thought was quite wonderful! I'm the doting grandmother, so I'm not the one to ask, but I think he's something pretty special, and it was such fun to share the hour with him!
I can't believe how quickly Ashton has grown. Wasn't it just last week you were posting newborn photos? I know you are head over heels in awe of this handsome guy! Grandchildren ROCK! A wonderful portrait of your gorgeous grandson, Louise. And I love Ashton's t-shirt.
He has such a soft and gentle look about him, not saying the energy is not there, but it appears reserved for those "right" times. The lighting is also nice on this one, with the soft shadows. Some may say they are distracting, but I do not find them so.
@peggysirk Thanks for the comment, Peggy! We certainly share a bond, having identically aged grand-kids! I have to share that I loved your comment about Ashton's shirt. It had the name of the school campus on it and I "deftly" cloned it out :) I actually thought "school" was sort of tongue in cheek and "cute"...
