Linda @linah came for another visit, and after a mini-brunch (Ken made us pumpkin scones and cappuccino) we went for a stroll and photo shoot. In the park across the street, 100 Christmas trees have been set up, and local organizations and shops decorate them. (The lighting will be Saturday night, complete with the nativity and a live donkey! ...everyone talks about the donkey and the moment it decides to bolt!)
The last three days have been mild and brilliant. Tonight (Mon. 11-24) it's raining and the wind is howling! Who knows what we'll have come Thanksgiving day!
Thank you all for the sweet notes with the party invitation! What fun it would be to have you all here...and wouldn't it be perfectly well covered photographically!
Small gathering of 6. This will be the first year without my dad. My youngest is off to TX to his girlfriends family. The house is still upside down from my mom moving in, but we made some progress today. at least I bought a turkey. :-)
@danette Not all blessings in life are overblown, but the small ones can be heart-warming. I know you'll miss having your dad present, but I'm sure your words of Thanksgiving will include your good memories of him.
@lyndemc From our front door, we look across the park to that church, so it figures into many of my photos! Churches are always such beautiful buildings, we're lucky to have this one there!
@linah Thanks! Wish I had time to post more! Can't wait to have you & Doug here on Thursday! So far we've been cooking and decorating for two days...I'm so excited to get the party underway!
How nice to get together with fellow 365'ers!
Maybe some day.
