Mary and I have been friends since we were collage room mates in St Louis... Long gone are the snowy winter days we walked to classes, as we now live only about 6 miles from one another in So California. This evening she and her husband joined us for dinner, all prepared by Ken who scored high marks for a delicious meal. I'm a bit off my game photo-wise as I seem to have often let Ken take care of that as well!
Of medical-news note: I had my MRI this morning...waiting for results. High on the up-side, I've been doing a lot of (somewhat wobbly) walking around the house! But I feel like I'm back in the human race again! This was a nice evening to celebrate!
Beautiful portrait of you both - such fabulous smiles!! A great friendship which you have been lucky enough to keep all these years. I bet Mary could tell us some great stories!! The pool looks fab Louise!!
I have 3 friends whom I have been friends with since grade school. One since 2nd grade. These 3 are my dearest friends. People you have shared a lifetime with are very special.
@joansmor Thanks for the fav, Joan, and here's to friends of a lifetime! We moved so often in the years I was growing up, I only saw again a couple of those childhood friends when they came to visit in later years. I did stay in touch by letter for a long time. It's been great to have been settled here for over 40 years, so I have some long and consistent friendships (at last!) I love that your closest friends have been with you all those years...like well-chosen sisters!
@photographycrazy@brigette@gilbertwood@kerristephens Thanks for the kind words! Knowing the thoughtfulness within this community, I have no doubt any one of those/and you, who've commented, could share about their long-time friendships as well!
@Cherrill@pamknowler Thanks for liking the backdrop! We're pretty stoked about it! (Besides the 2 lion spills, we have 3 "rain showers" along the back of the pool) and the white noise makes a wonderful and very private backdrop for conversation. We feel as though we'd added an additional room to the house!
Nice photo. Here's to great and longtime friendships. Oh my.... and you two live only six miles from each other now? How awesome is that! My college roommate and her husband are still best friends of ours. Wish they lived closer. They are in Ridgecrest, so we don't see them as often as we would like.. (Amy was my roommate, and her husband was John's. We introduced them, and they married four months after we did. Amy,, John,, and I all played clarinets in our college band together.)
A beautiful photo of you both . You looking great and nice. How beautiful to have a friendship as long as yours. Hope the results of the MRI are nothing but all good for you.
@pyrrhula@kwiksilver How lovely to see I'm thought of as I so often think of "our circle of friends" throughout the day! Thank you for the positive healing thoughts that make me smile!
That's wonderful that you're still close! I'm blessed to have several friends from college I'm still in touch with. You both look wonderful and I'm glad to hear the MRI results will be positive. And that little peak of your backyard looks wonderful!
beautiful photo ladies...and what a lovely, long lasting friendship to cherish. So glad your getting about a bit Louise. Fingers crossed for great results from the MRI xx
I am praying for a great report on the results of the MRI!
