Lunenburg : Days or Yore by Weezilou

Lunenburg : Days or Yore

Some call it Dawdling ...
Some call it Play ...
An unkind friend in an irreverent moment even called it "Artsy Fartsy" ...

I call it Meditative, Relaxing, Reflective, Intuitive, Freeing, Stimulating, Inventive and, in the end, even Productive!

I love Dawdling, Lingering and Playing!
was this the same pic as before with all the multi-coloured houses? great processing! it looks just like a postcard one would find in the basement of old houses!

This looks like something right out of Currier and Ives! Well done! Another fav!
August 24th, 2015
And you excel at it. Nothing artsy fatty about anything you do. We could take lessons.
August 24th, 2015
@summerfield Thanks Missy! I haven't used this photo before...it's an old one actually that I liked as it was...and then I began to "play"! Yes, the buildings on the waterfront are red, and there would be multi-colored buildings all over this town. Can't wait for you to see it yourself!
August 24th, 2015
@allie912 Thanks so much Allie! I just hung 3 prints of old photos in this neighborhood from the late 1800s...I suppose you could say I was inspired!
August 24th, 2015
@danette Thank you, Danette. I love being part of a community that both likes AND understands what we do and what we're all about! It's why I stay on and on!

August 24th, 2015
@Weezilou - 'tis! what do you want from toronto? let me know. you are not allergic to godiva chocolates, non?
August 24th, 2015
@summerfield Oh I remember you were Lady Godiva! Chocolate...my balm, my salve, my decadent and guilty pleasure...love the shapes, the fillings, the nuts...that food that knows no time of day...the star at the top of the food-group triangle! 'nuf said?!
August 24th, 2015
@Weezilou - so you're not allergic? :-D
August 24th, 2015

And you should love all those things. You are so good at them! ;) I love this work of art and the vintage feel you have given it.

August 24th, 2015
Wonderful and appropriate processing.
August 24th, 2015
Well it looks classy as far as I am concerned, and it makes an ideal note card Louise. Nicely done.
August 24th, 2015

August 24th, 2015
Very nice
August 24th, 2015
Hasn't changed much has it. Still beautiful. fav
Footloose and the guys are at Grand Manan Island tonight. They did an overnight last night. They got fuel in Shelburne and kept going. : )
August 24th, 2015
@sailingmusic Thanks for the fav Myrna. Did you realize that I just did post editing to a current photo? You're also correct that it probably DID look much like this all those years ago! Just missing a few sailing ships! Glad to hear the guys are enjoying a stay at Grand Manan; it's on the Bucket List for us! Today was the first day since we spoke that the sun was out all day and a breeze came up!
August 24th, 2015
I just love it! You know, I'll take a picture of just about anything if it makes me happy!

I still have the postcard you sent me with the Monarch on it. It's right here in my computer room on my corkboard so I look at it every day. I'll probably leave it there forever. Perhaps that shall be my picture of the day at some point!
August 25th, 2015
@chevymom What a kind remembrance that was of you to share, Karen! Only the other day came across the card from that same group, one of a turtle, and I thought back to that day I sent you the butterfly. This certainly has been an engaging community. Perhaps others grow to be the same, but this is the only place I remain because I like the people here so much. Like you, I photograph things that please me. I order cards with many of my images and only today was writing cards to people and enclosing photos I took of them on different occasions. I enjoy spreading the pleasure to be found in a photo! As always, it's so nice to have you drop by : )
August 25th, 2015
Beautiful picture postcard of Lunenburg.
August 25th, 2015
Awesome Louise love the vintage look!
Great processing!
August 26th, 2015
Nice, creative processing. Lovely pic, definite days of old. I do love to "play" with my pics. I really like the card quality of the pic!
August 26th, 2015
I suspect that "friend" is no longer on your list of people to call for a fun time!! You should really be hanging out with photographers more....we understand!! ;-))))
August 26th, 2015
@panthora ...she's aging...I give her a pass, but I did call her on that one...and then she didn't speak to ME for awhile! I just ignored it & all's well again... But you are SO right...the best company is with fellow photographers who totally get us!
August 26th, 2015
@photographycrazy @radiogirl @pyrrhula Thank you all so much! At the risk of sounding immodest, I'm very happy with the way this turned out (and have no idea the steps I took to possibly repeat it!). Pleases me that the likes of you three like it as well!
August 26th, 2015
@allie912 @danette @eyesmile @lisamccloskey @365projectlinda @gilbertwood @shepherdmanswife @thresheg @digitalrn @jack4john @bkbinthecity

Thank you all for liking this! As Rick suggested, I have ordered some note cards with this on the front. If people think I just scanned an old post card, well, that would make my day! ♥
August 26th, 2015
Dawdling is certainly on mycalendar from time to time as life can become too hectic. Love the way you've processed this to look old and lime a card or is it a shot of a card? Anywayits good
August 26th, 2015
@kelly2 HI Irene...this is a (color) photo I took of the waterfront and it's been in my "archives" awhile. I began to play with it the other day and this is what happened! I love that it looks (to me) like a genuinely old card or postcard, so I am having it printed on cards to mail to friends. (All the town is full of the color photos, so I decided ti mix it up a little!)
August 26th, 2015
Superb processing Louise.
August 26th, 2015
I must say I am genuinely impressed.....this definitely looks like an antique postcard that was found in a box somewhere!! Great processing! FAV!
