Ken called me to come have a look as he was already taking photos of this hawk in the yard. I grabbed a camera, and saw him hopping through the tree, casing out the feeder, before coming to the ground, out in the open. It's stunning that there literally isn't so much as a peep, and the birds vanish!
I think this one may be young. He stayed almost 10 minutes by our time stamps so Ken and I got a lot of photos and I thought I might as well get some video, too. He didn't seem at all skittish, but he was coming up "empty-handed" and finally took flight for another yard and another attempt.
--As time allows, I'll be filling in pictures. This month at home wasn't all I had in the game plan, but all's good... Let's just say, "it's been interesting..." Do come back by...--

@rosiekerr You and Danette see the little General in his demeanor! We couldn't believe he put on such a show for us, clearly hoping to engage us, all the while we're wooing the dove population! (We did count over 40 birds on the wires above the back yard only the other morning!)
@gaylewood@golftragic We couldn't believe what we were privy to today! Thanks for enjoying him with us...he was pretty wonderful in that amazing coat of exquisite feathers!
@seattle Thank you m'friend! I never cease to be amazed what we have available in the confines of our back yard as well! I think the key is to set out food and wait to see what happens!
