After being home for a week we got Wanderlust again and took the train up the coast to visit our grandkids. We were expecting to attend the school Christmas Concert our SIL John will be conducting on Sunday, only to discover there was a student jazz concert as well after tonight's dinner. It was fabulous! The room in which it was held is wood paneled with a big fireplace and this festive tree at one end overlooking an immense tree-lined lawn. Dessert was served while the music played...Chocolate eclairs, apple empanadas and a gargantuan tray of cookies! All this was set alongside vats of hot chocolate with all the marshmallow, whipped cream and sprinkles toppings! School was never like this when I was a teenager! The littlest faculty children like our Ashton, had a field day, dancing and indulging in sweet treats! (Dylan had fallen asleep over dinner, and slept on Ken's chest the whole time. He'll be sorry to have missed it, but Grandma was looking out for him and brought home some cookies.)
If all this wasn't enough to make the entire weekend outstanding, there's a parade in town tomorrow, and John's student's concert Sunday.
Oh how lovely! I was wondering when you would visit the family. I bet it was fabulous for you to see Ashton and Dylan - hope you got lots of pics! Of course you did - how silly am I? Lol! Beautiful tree - love the sound of that melted chocolate! Fav!
(Ina decided our tree will be all withe this year)
