On this Wednesday morning I had a medical exploration to see why my stomach seems not to be healing properly now after almost 3 months. We did get some answers, and I'll have to continue to be patient and eat a bit differently (hopefully not forever!)
I came home and lay in the sun when I saw a lizard struggling poolside. I called Ken who came and helped me rescue him, and thought now was as good as ever to get a photo. I wondered if he wasn't already rescuing himself from the pool when I saw him as he was quite lethargic.
I set him in semi sun and shade and kept an eye on him for signs of movement. When it came, he was left dangling off the side of a low wall, but hanging by one toenail! Again to the rescue and I set him on a flat area.
Soon after (the poor little guy was having a *really* rough day!) along comes the neighborhood black cat I call Nemesis, and he picks up said lizard! Again I call Ken who catches the cat and saves the lizard...
...at which time we relocated him far from the pool and far from the cats to a part of the yard with a pile of rocks and grass. We did everything we could to save him and nurse him back to health, so I hope he'll stay far from "predicaments" and that he's learned some survival techniques!
@annied A fellow soft-hearted friend! He HAD to be rescued...and after the third time in such a short while, I could see he was quite in need! (I was happy to have to opportunity to held him!)
I love this story of the recused lizard! Well done Louise! Three times saved - I think he is a very lucky lizard indeed! He has a lovely pattern and texture to his skin!
Awww. How lucky he was that you saw him, not once, not twice, but three times! I scooped a lizard out of our pool, he was under water, standingg on the step, I put him in the flowerbed and by day's end he was walking. Maybe they quit breathing and it keeps water out of their lungs. Pretty resilient creatures! Sorry your tummy is making patience such a big deal right now. Such a hard lesson, that patience!
Louise, I'm so sorry to hear you still haven't been feeling well. I hope you find some solutions to your stomach problems soon. :-(
I love your lizard rescue story and photo. That poor little guy certainly was having a rough day. Hopefully he's still alive today in a safe and comfortable area in your yard. :-)
I hope that the lizard has learnt his lesson.
Sorry to hear that you are still not fully recovered. I hope that you are now on the road to recovery and that everything will go smoothly.
That is one very lucky lizard. Great rescue story and do hope the l'il critter survives in your back yard. So sorry to hear you're still not A1, must be very frustrating for one as active as you. Hope the medicos can get to the bottom of the problem and get it fixed asap.
That was very kind of you to rescue the lizard three times in a short amount of time. I wonder how many lives that little lizard has left?!? You did what you could for him. Now it's time to take care of yourself! Hope you feel better soon!!!
Aww well that's a lovely shot of this beautiful lizard, what a kind heart you have! He is lucky to have fallen in your pool and to be under your care. And I'm sorry you aren't well :( I haven't been around as much as I want so I didn't know, but I wish you a good recovery (albeit slow, as long as it's good!!!)... xo
@loey5150 Thanks Lois! It's been a week & I see the doc for a follow up tomorrow. I think I've been set on the right track...a pain-free week with a change in meds and a different approach to eating. I'm quite happy with it all, and really really happy to be feeling so much better! Thanks!
