Sustenance for a Rainy Night by Weezilou

Sustenance for a Rainy Night

...and we're back! We left the beach communities of sunny California to spend time with the grandkids en route to Lunenburg where it rained all day. Ken and I ran errands, having been told by my favourite neighbour that she was making us a seafood chowder for dinner! We sat down to this divine meal, chock-a-block full of scallops, haddock and salmon and rose, feeling sated and well-loved, so very happy to have settled back in!

Tomorrow is the Farmer's Market, a great place to see all my local friends again...not to mention stocking up on local taste treats.

A bit more settling back in and house guests arrive Tuesday. They've never been here, so it's always fun to share this marvelous province with newcomers who are also college friends of ours.

Thanks for the notes several of you sent me in my absence. I may not be on board daily, but I've missed taking part here and seeing what everyone's up to!
Well that is beautifully captured and looks delicious

There may be no better gift than a meal prepared by a friend for you when you’ve just arrived home from a journey.

hmmmm..seafood chowder. i might make some on the weekend. want to come over? :-) i am having an "addiction" with clam meat for a while during the summer, then i got to taste a few bad ones so i'm off them now. back to scallops and shrimp and salmon.

this looks decadently delicious. must look for a recipe, or maybe i can just make up my own. aces on the presentation. so simple and yet the chowder shines through.
