It has rained intermittently for the last few days. During the sunny moments the birds descend in droves, and just as quickly, fly into the trees. The Flowering Pear trees burst into bloom only in the last few days, so the pairing is beautiful.
Here we have a couple of finches, an English Sparrow and, with his back turned, a White- Crested Nutall.
It's really not springtime... These rainy days are like our most typical winters.
@koalagardens@pamknowler@Dawn@brigette@inthecloud5@casablanca@joansmor@merrelyn@seattlite@mbrutus@gardenfolk Thank you all! It made me think of "old-fashioned, expensive scenic wallpaper"! (Without the background shadows of course!) The blooms on the tree will last less than a week, so I'm going to take many more pictures while they last! When the leaves fill in, I will no longer be able to see the birds! Thank you for all the kindness you left me here! If you'll indulge me, I'll be posting another and try to eventually fill in my missing week! ♥
Nice gathering! Are your hummingbirds back? I noticed a nest being constructed in the usual spot on my front porch yesterday. How they succeed in building such a nest amid all this rain really amazes me.
@danette Thanks Danette! That's what I was trying to describe. but didn't know the name! @louannwarren Wow, Lou Ann...thank you! I just see "pretty things" and look for the composition in my camera! @stray_shooter Funny you should ask! Every time I step out the back door, the hummingbirds (two, at least!) swoop in to eat. They're so frequent, I've waited to photograph them when I have had some time. Watch for what I post tomorrow : ) I haven't looked for nesting...with all the rain, I've hardly stepped out the back door! On faith, I'm quite positive their build a home here again!
We’re still in summer!!
