My last post was of snow-capped mountains in February, and now we're blessed with a meadow of California poppies!
Thank you to all who left notes for me in my absence! I had surgery 02-27; it went well and I recovered faster than I thought I would! While resting, I worked at improving my PS skills and worked again with my art projects of yesteryear! Without time, I wouldn't have pulled them back out! I never stopped taking photographs, however!
For my first trip away from home last week, we went up the coast to visit the grandkids, and spent 10 days being tourists around Santa Barbara! This meadow is at the SB Botanic Garden, an unstructured acreage for walking and feeling refreshed. Magnificent!
Know that I can't recall feeling better, and I've looked forward to returning! I almost posted yesterday, one of my "Artistic Flamingos" from the SB zoo, but I thought this photo conveyed the change of seasons and a fresh start from my little corner of the world!
Look at you! So glad to see this lovely scene. When I was in Sonoma in early April the poppies were just beautiful. Everyone said it was the great California rains this year, at just the right time. So glad you are doing so well, thrilled to see this post! 😊
How wonderful to see you back with us on 365 Louise you have been missed! So pleased you have had such a great recovery from your surgery and that you are feeling well! I love this image of the poppies growing where there was such destruction by fire last year. Nature really is miraculous!
What a beautiful capture and perfect title for your return :) So pleased all went well and i look forward to your terrific photos from your corner of the world !! fav
@haskar@pyrrhula@paintdipper@radiogirl@danette@kwind@ethelperry@stevepam@brigette You friends, and all who have left me messages are the reason I thought it was time to throw my share of support to this marvelous community! I must share that, having shown these photos to a very close friend, she wants to visit and make the Central Coast tour with us before summer! (We don't typically have people visit us here in CA, but her husband recently passed away and we want to help lighten her load.) I'm happy that my life (and lifestyle) are back to normal! Keep making the most of every wonderful day and don't forget to photograph it!!
My pic.`s taking area is about that same size. One hour in all directions . But I also have to include the time off year as the flowers do different and have n`t a clock.
@casablanca Ahhh Casablanca, thank you so much! This was a great place to visit and feel free from my self-imposed restraints! @lynnz ...and as I was just saying, it would be hard to make me stay quiet inside again! Thank you, Lynn...it's a delight to be back with you! and @pyrrhula yes, while our California seasons aren't as dramatic as yours, and the flowers here all grow wild and natural, this is only a few short miles from the fires that swept through, so it's not always accessible either! Thanks for your explanation!
Great to see you back on 365 Louise, I've been wondering where you were and what had happened. Hope the surgery went well, and it's all now onwards and upwards.
@golftragic Thanks Marnie! This was a redo of the 1st surgery 2 years prior...didn't work out at all. It was worth taking the chance because I could tell from the outset how much better I felt! It was six weeks of slow progression adding food...make that 2 weeks liquid, 2 weeks pureed, and then two weeks soft food. Now, I feel like a normal person and Normal is really really good! I'm eating anything!
Thrilled you're feeling fabulous and that you're back!
What a beautiful scene!
