From our Balcony, I can imagine what lies Below...

I love the ocean...Ken and I are Scuba Divers (perhaps no longer, but we loved it!). If we've seen the sights of a city, we then look for the local zoo or aquarium. Here in Barcelona, we've seen many sights (including the zoo on a past visit) so after visiting Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, we made our way here. I couldn't recommend it more highly, and we've visited many! My camera cooperated beautifully, so I was happy to use this image from shortly after we stepped inside. (If I had the time, I'd still be there!)

Awesome capture of this fabulous scene. Both hubby and I used to dive around the world!

How beautiful! You were lucky the day after you left Barcelona there were riots in the streets! So pleased you have wonderful memories!

@ludwigsdiana What fun to read that! Ken and I planned trips around that, too! I'd no longer go on my own with Ken, but would do so with a dive master again... no sensation quite like it!

Beautiful!!

Yes, there's nothing like diving! But on this trip, I basically stuck my waterproof camera in the water from the kayak! This is a beauty of a shot. Love Barcelona!

This is wonderful, Louise! I love it. Fav. Glad you are enjoying Spain. My son was there right after he graduated from high school and had a great two week trip. :)

Beautiful. You two have had amazing experiences.

Wonderful fishy array there Louise. Great shot. I used to snorkel a fair bit, but with the severely nerve-damaged foot I now have I can't kick evenly, and lack the necessary muscle tone to use a flipper. Sigh.

@Weezilou We were diving for 40 years Louise. Living in Tokyo for ten years put us close to some of the magnificent diving grounds in Asia and the the Micronesian islands. Have not been underwater since living here, which is twelve years now ;-)

Great shot of the aquarium and fishes.
Have had a salt water one myself for more then twenty years. It ended when it got a leak while I was on a holiday. +/- 250 gallons water on the floor and everythig dies. End of the hobby.

@pyrrhula Oh Ferry!!! What a story! I don't know about you, but losing beautiful, well-cared-for fish would be heartbreaking for me! And the smell...and the mess!!! Oh, I can't imagine the sadness and frustration to arrive home to all that!!! I'm so sorry you had to have that experience! So Sad!

SO magical! A fav.

@Weezilou Life is hard. :-) :-) :-) But this is all in the game. You outlive all you pets you care for.
October 23rd, 2019
@pyrrhula About outliving our pets...I think about that so often! While we get so much pleasure from their company, I do think it's a selfless act to raise and care for a pet knowing they'll likely have to depart before you do. Of course it's life, but it's so sad to think about having to say that last good-bye...
