Down Costa Rican Country Roads

Though the hour is late, I have such a sense of satisfaction for all that I accomplished today! I hope I'm on a fresh path!

Ken and I baked an extremely tasty Orange Cake, so laden with calories, that we shared it with our neighborhood! Trying to off balance that, I exercised in the pool for an hour. I wrote and mailed 5 cards to friends today, and after some rocky attempts, I finished working on these birds we'd stopped to photograph when I was taking Matt's class in CR two years ago. I now plan to read for another hour...maybe two, and look forward to seeing what tomorrow has to offer!

Sounds like a day of accomplishments. Beautiful birds.

Sounds like a nice day! Beautiful image, Louise, love the rusty barbed wire, maybe because it adds a little discomfortable twist of reality to a scene that could otherwise be said “too pretty”. This is what art is about, isn’t it?

I love how you have presented this photo. I feel breathless after reading all you’ve done today.

@pdulis Over time, I've bought many textures from Photomorphis. This was from a lot called "Island Flora". I'm posting so many like this currently because I'm taking Matt Kloskowski's "Wildlife Texture" course. I can hardly wait to work through to the final video where he explains how to create our own textures. I could cheat, but I want to really study all this as I move forward; Matt's a wonderful teacher!

@domenicododaro Thanks for spending some thoughtful time here, Domenico! Yes, one could read social commentary into this image. When I last posted the hummingbird photo on Matt's site with other class members, someone went on at length, wanting to know what story I was telling... I responded in more than a few words that "sometimes a pretty bird is just a pretty bird", but here, there's more to be read into if if one cared to! I can hardly wait to see if he says something about this one!

@danette Thanks, Danette! You do know that this is Matt's course? We've agreed that he's such an excellent teacher! We've just been in touch...I got Pam this course for her upcoming birthday, but she thinks she doesn't know enough about PS yet. Matt said he'd send her his beginner's course which I know will send her soring! All this certainly has been fun! (I was chatting with a friend in Lunenburg this morning & telling her about meeting Clyde Butcher and his amazing photography! Fun also to revisit that good memory!)

@Weezilou I need to take more classes. Yes, I think Matt is wonderful. I signed up with a photographer from Tampa as he is going to start some classes. He is on Instagram at WhereIsWeatherby (John Weatherby).
