I fear this story was a tragic one... We attract birds by the dozens, and sometimes, for seemingly no reason, they startle and in one "swoosh" they fly off. Bless this little one that she took a wrong turn and the sound was awful! I fully expected to find her on the mat, but I didn't see her anywhere in the yard. I can only hope it wasn't as bad as it sounded.
To me, this was such an ethereal image that, if she didn't live to see another day, she left a singularly beautiful impression, and for her sacrifice, she'll not be forgotten...
Yes we get the birds fly into our lounge windows. There is often an angel impression left behind and no bird so I breath a sigh of relief. It is normally the big fat pigeons who do it. Normally too interested in chasing the females round to notice where they are flying!
We have this too and I fearfully look out and down to see if there is a quivering body. More often than not there is nothing, probably a bird in a tree somewhere with a big headache! The dust and oil in their feathers leaves this amazing image. I know when the pigeons have been in the bird bath as they leave a powdery residue of the water surface. Seeing it as an angel is such a lovely idea. Some people put small silhouette hawk stickers on their windows to deter the birds.
@Cherrill Thank you for sharing the thoughts... My little grandsons love the gel stickers to decorate the expanse of door glass, but in the birds' haste to flush, I know they don't all look where they're going! But about those stickers... After Christmas I thought it had been quite long enough to leave up the ones that spelled out "Keep Out" in dripping blood! Time to go shopping for the Valentine hearts!
We have had such happenings many times. There has rarely been a dead bird, and even those that are wounded can be kept quiet in a box until they recover
I once withness a duck flying on our kitchen window. She seems dead . I took my shoppings into the house and get back,. No dead duck to find. Wasn`t that dead as I expected I guest.
oh dear , so sad. I hate it when a little bird flies into our front window. It is such a sickening sound. sometimes though they seem to be able to fly off again
