The moon was beautiful during the Blue Hour, and as I was photographing it, we received a message from friends that their grandson was born today! (Actually, they were supposed to go with us on the trip today, but cancelled before we did when they knew they'd have a new grandbaby!)
I was going to post a photo of the moon, but when I put this together to send to them, I thought it would be fun to share how I use photos to make cards.
Ohhh, Louise, you've created a real treasure! Fabulous photo...lovely words...what a wonderful keepsake! Do you print your cards at home or use an online service? If you use an online service, would you mind sharing which one?
@pamknowler@salza@annied@gilbertwood@gardenfolk@radiogirl@jamibann@allie912@ceilidh@louannwarren@shesnapped@laurieewilson@kwind@seattlite@golftragic@pcarlaw Thank you, each and every one of you, for liking this little e-card. When of us can take excellent photos, we have it at our fingertips to make out email more personal. FYI, I write my note when the image is full size, and I can make the space bigger by increasing the "canvas size". When I finish, I reduce the image size to 9" wide and 72 dpi. I can then put it in the body of the text and it isn't overwhelmingly large. In an instance like this, when they might wish to save the image full size and print it for a baby book, I also add it as an attachment in full size. I find they're so special to receive, and I love sending them as well!
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry! I can easily say you're the first Dutchman to send best wishes to the family! You make me smile...and them, too, I'm guessing!
@ceilidh I'm so glad to see you here with us, Margaret. Sending you a big, heartfelt hug!
@janetb Thank you so much Janet! I don't print my own cards. I explained just above how I resize them to enclose in the body of an email. To make my printed cards, I use Shutterfly, only because they were there early on and I've used them foe at least 18 years! I'd sign up to receive their email, and when they offer "10 free cards", pick one of the many many designs to add your photos! They use an excellent card stock that looks nice and it easy to write upon.
nice moon capture, amazing how the position is different from your vantage point. in here it's like an askewed smirk compared to yours which is a wide grin! ♥
@Weezilou Thank you so much for the wonderful information you provided about your cards. I sure plan to give using some of my images as cards a try. I love to receive cards and send them...such simple pleasures that bring such joy!
you are quite the treasure
