Got a couple of photos outstanding in the 'to be processed' pile, but not feeling particularly inspired tonight -- so here's another photo from my Granville Street photowalk a couple of weeks ago.
There was a great moody sky with just a small gap in the clouds in the distance, showing the colour of the sunset beyond. The rain throughout the day made for some beautiful reflections.
If you look carefully, you might spot a couple of tripods across the street from other people on the photowalk!
I continue to be impressed with the new camera -- the shadow detail available in the shots is just remarkable!

@grizzlysghost The vertical lights down Granville Street are really cool -- when you come over the Granville Street Bridge (right at the end of this shot) you can see them leading all the way through downtown :)
There's so many great things going on here. I like the colors reflected in the street, the starburst headlights and streetlights, and the nice lines and patterns disappearing into the distance.
These are the same starbursts from earlier pictures, right? This is a very busy picture, but remarkably it holds together very nicely. I think it is the strongly reflected color and the four green traffic lights. Favorite.
@frankhymus Thanks for the fave! This is a different lens to the previous starburst photo, this lens has an 8-bladed aperture which gives 8-pointed starbursts, whereas my other lens has 7 blades, resulting in 14-pointed starbursts. (Lenses with an odd number of blades will always have double the number of points on any starbursts).
The quality of the starbursts with this lens aren't, to me, quite as nice as with the 7-bladed lens, but they're still pretty good :)
love the tones light and moody sky! and particularly interested in the starburst info... who knew? (well - obviously you did - but it never occurred to me to even think about it!)
I like the shot but the movement from the cars/ (or train) on the left looks different. I think if they were either zooming by (minus the light rail train) or completely stopped @ a red light that might work better. Just my thoughts...that's all. The colors and the reflections are great. Nice camera you have. I anticipate going full frame in about 1 year.
