This is a 519 megapixel HDR panorama of downtown Vancouver at dawn, as seen from the Stanley Park seawall. It consists of 38 framings with 5 exposures each for a total of 190 photographs, taken over a period of 13 minutes and processed over a period of about 36 hours!
The sun had just broken through the clouds on the horizon when I started taking this panorama. It was still early on Sunday morning, so Vancouver was very quiet -- I've only managed to find three people in the image so far!
The full resolution, zoomable panorama can be interactively explored on Gigapan -- use the mouse wheel to zoom in and drag around, or click on the snapshots below the main image:

WOW! Thats awesome, I looked on gigapan, truly amazing (I cant think of any more adjectives because I am in awe of the photo and the process)
What can one do with a picture of this size and resolution?
@monika64 Thank you! The main thing you could do with an image like this is print it really, really big -- you could print this approximately 12.5 feet across and walk right up to it and it would still be pin-sharp.
Because of that I might manage to make a small amount of money from it through stock photography sites or direct sales. But the main reason I took it is because it's fun to be able to explore an image like this and see what you can find!
Goodness me. Ive looked on the Gigapan shot as well and you can see right inside some of those windows. I can't imagine how long it took you to do this.fav
Wow! This is a really amazing panorama. So interesting to navigate in Gigapan and see a detailed view of so many different parts which simply cannot be seen in the complete image. Very well done indeed!
