Photographed on Monday evening as an awesome sunset was occurring, this is part of the Stanley Park Seawall path which runs all the way around Stanley Park.
At the bottom corner of the photograph is the Prospect Point lighthouse. The lighthouse was built in 1948, but there has been a lighthouse on the site since just 4 days after Stanley Park opened, in 1888. This was too late for the steamship Beaver, which had hit the point three months earlier.
This was taken from around half-way along the Lions Gate Bridge with my wide-angle lens. The lighthouse is remarkably close to the base of the bridge, so this shot involved me once again ignoring my dislike of heights to hang my camera out over the water 360 feet below.

Definitely worth viewing large. So many things to admire - the beautiful colours of the sunset, the winding road and the lovely lighthouse in the bottom corner. Amazing shot.
Wonderful capture! Good for you for quieting your fear of heights for long enough to get this shot. Walking over the bridge on foot is much more stomach-turning than zooming over it in a car or bus... so, extra kudos, especially for the dangling! :) Great composition. I especially love the wispy clouds echoing the texture of the water below.
Awesome shot, Alexis.Fav. FYI, after your review to me of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ 200, I bought it yesterday. I think it is exactly what I wanted. It tried out a DSLR for a week or so, and it was bigger and heavier than I wanted to carry around. Thank you so much in helping me make this decision. Now, to learn to use it.
