The light from a thousand stars, some of it travelling for more than 10,000 years, finally ends its journey in my camera.
This photo was taken from my favourite star location, Porteau Cove Provincial Park, and is a rework of a series of images I shot in January. Some of you may remember the the timelapse video I created from these photographs.
This is made up from 191 stacked photographs, taken at 16mm, f/3.5, ISO 2500, and with a little creativity applied in Photoshop.
I'm a British software developer and photographer living in Vancouver, BC. I mainly photograph landscapes, cityscapes, night scenes, and water.

@brianl Thanks. At one point the 6GB Photoshop file was taking almost 40 minutes to save!
I sell more landscape photos than star photos at the moment -- there is definitely a smaller market for star photos, but also a much smaller base of photographers taking them.
@brav Thank you :) I used opacity levels to 'fade out' the star trails, rather than keeping them a uniform brightness, I applied the starburst effects to the leading edge of the brightest trails, and I applied the colouration to the starbursts :)
This is gorgeous. I can't believe I didn't follow you earlier - if not for your amazing shots then for the fact that you're one of the savviest most helpful 365ers around :)
