almost there

I will get you focused eventually
@aecasey @vignouse Almost there, tried the zoom lens instead unfortunately my shutter speed was too slow and the twig was in the way. I was on a walk with a friend and if they are not photographers they are not as understanding to take multiple pictures of the same subject.

You really got the hairs on the legs sharp! Might I suggest you open your aperture a bit? Maybe 4.0 or 5.6 ...If you are shooting in aperture priority that would create a faster shutter speed and should still give you nice sharpness in the focal plane.

@aecasey thanks so much

The fact that you got the leg hairs sharp indicates that your shutter speed was high enough - this is a DoF and focus plane positioning issue. As with all photographs of living things, you need to focus on the eyes. With the shallow DoF in macro/proxi photography, focussing using the central focus point and then recomposing won't work because of the change of focal distance when you recompose... not to mention the risk of your moving the camera backwards or forwards and losing focus.
