Cupola this

A view towards the copula that resides upon the dwellings that are part of the Hammett House estate, on the outskirts of Llechyrd village in Ceredigion.

(For those in the know if you glance quickly at the shot you may think you are at Stourhead in Wiltshire!)
Is that what they call a folly? I thought that copula’s are sitting on top of churches….

A cupola is a small structure located on top of a building's roof or dome. It is common for cupolas to have a round or square bases, but they may also be polygonal.

Originally, cupolas had functional purposes, such as to admit light and air or to provide a lookout position.

You are right that cupolas can be found sitting on top of church towers but they are not confined to churches solely.

In this case it sits on a rather large country house and I think you are (were) able to climb a staircase to the top and look out.

Yes they can be seen on tops of follies too. :)
