Had a tricky time thinking up a 'q' photo involving the parrots. Quack (a noise Magic does make) doesn't really show up... Queue? not going to happen - usually leads to quibbling, but not today... In the end I thought Magic looked quite quizzical in the first pic, after she'd just woken from a nap in my dressing gown. I just love the second pic of Phoenix mid-preen, so I decided to use it today anyway :)
PS: My other half has just started his own 365 project, so if you get chance please pop over and check out his pics: http://365project.org/rogley8/365
Sira loves to do the same thing with my daughter as far as crawling in her clothes and taking a nap or just generally hanging out and hiding. Both shots are great and you really do have two wonderful birds.
@snowy Oops - sorry, I accidentally deleted your comment when I was going for 'reply'. Birds aren't naturally viscious; they bite in response to the actions of their carers, and usually only as a last resort. It sounds like the bird you knew when growing up had not been handled very well and was expressing itself the only way it knew :( Magic was hand-raised very well by the person we got her from, so she's very well socialised and friendly. Phoenix, who we got from a rescue when she was 5 years old, had clearly not been handled well as she will run or fly away from hands, unless they're holding food very still. We've had her a year and a half, and I still can't pet her or even touch her, though she will happily sit on my head! Each bird is different, and the product of its environment.
@lmasinton Challenges are lots of fun (though don't let parrots dictate that they are going to be in your A-Z challenge - they make it quite tricky, especially when their main hobby is eating the camera or flying away from it!).
