We had quite a few snowfalls when we were home. I'm a winter person so I had a wonderful time enjoying the cold, frost and snowfalls. We went out for a walk in Marple, a village/town near Manchester where three major canals meet. I got the white balance settings on the camera wrong, but I finally got an HDR shot to work out - hoorah!
This spiral is how the horses that used to pull the canal boats got from one side of the towpath to the other when the bridges were too narrow for them to pass underneath.
I'm not sure that I've heard anyone say they love winter before... I guess that's a lie because anyone that endures our summers 'think' they love winter until winter comes.
I love that paved path and the lines taking us through the photo.
@bella_ss I cringe whenever people on the radio say it's going to be a 'nice warm day' as that inevitably means hot and horrible in my book. I used to walk to uni up a hill on freezing days, sometimes in snow, and feel really, really happy (and a bit cold and wet). I love the short days, and the chance to sit inside wrapped in a blanket, with a hot chocolate and a good book looking at snow falling, mist creeping or frosty ground. I love the feeling of warming up in a hot shower after coming in from the cold. I love the chance to wear my favourite jumpers and wrap up with scarves, hats and gloves so only tiny bits of skin peek out and the rest of me is warm and toasty. Crisp, clear winter mornings are one of my favourite things ever :)

I loved seeing the canal boats and the locks when I was in the UK
