This beautiful building is near Kings Cross and St Pancras railway stations. It was originally the Midland Hotel, until the 1930s, then used as railway offices. It was reopened as a hotel (with very expensive apartments in the top floors too) in 2011. It was also, apparently, the tallest building in the UK from 1869 to 1911..
In the foreground you can see a couple of modern London cabs and buses zipping about too :)
It looks marvellous, I have never noticed it before, though perhaps with that brickwork I might have mistaken it as part of the station. (St Pancras not Kings Cross!!!) They did it so well in those days...tallest building?! Gosh
Great shot! I love the building and the sky that looms above and past it. You can see ominous looking clouds in the distance! You captured it very well! Excellent job, Alia! I'm so jealous that you got to go to London! Well done! :)
