Hydrangeas by alia_801

Hydrangeas

June in Japan means hydrangeas... They have flowers for every season (almost!). Cherry blossom during spring is probably the most famous, but there were ads for rose festivals, daffodil festivals... and hydrangea festivals. We didn't go to a specific festival anywhere, but we did see a lot of hydrangeas. These were all spotted around the Great Buddha statue in Kamakura (top pic). It's a very big statue, and you can even go inside to see how it was made! The red flower in the centre was growing in a garden near Karen's house, but was one of my favourite pics from the trip, so it's here too :)
What a fabulous collection of blooms. You are enticing me to Japan
