Great shot...what editing program do you use? Usually you can set the white balance in the editing process by clicking on a bit that should be all white.
You might be able to keep this up for some time- possibly all the way to X if you have some Quinoa handy for Q! As to the background I find a white plate or bright white sheet of paper works best in natural lighting.
@bkbinthecity I ate it as soon as I'd taken the pic (with help from the feathered ones!) @olivetreeann I was tempted to go with food all the way, but I got stuck at 'd' :) I'm using a large sheet of white card, but I still can't get the lighting even...
Nice shot, Alia! I love bananas!!! If I need a background, I usually use a white board that I have hanging around. If it's not white enough, I have a program that lets me adjust just the white part. Try picmonkey under "Colors" and use the neutral picker. See if that works. Or try the auto enhance. D food is doughnut! :D But I like your ducky!
@alia_801 There have been times when I've done this and had to really do a lot of processing to get the white background truly white. I ended up using a lot of little steps - going back and forth with the contrast, shadow and highlights to get the white- white.
@prttblues@olivetreeann When I have time I might go through the shots in picmonkey to try the neutral-picker trick... I'm using the same white background for all the shots, but you can see how different it comes out each time!
